The mill
Temporarily closed due to renovation.
Mill 't Slot is a flour mill.
Mill 't Slot is located near the old city center in a very beautiful location along the Hollandse IJssel on the city wall. The dark green painted beard with white border reads: 't Slot ANNO 1832. As early as 1581, the city council granted permission to build a flour mill on site on the foundations of the recently demolished castle of the Lords of Ter Gouw.
Since Monument Day 2019, the management of this mill has been covered by the Goudse Molenaars association
Molenaar: Association of Millers
Open every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The Mallemolen in the Korte Akkeren district is one of the largest polder mills in the Netherlands. The mill was restored in 2009 and officially put back into use on September 18, 2010.
The mill now functions as an (emergency) drainage system for a drainage area that is more or less formed by the Korte Akkeren district.

Corn mill De Roode Leeuw on the Vest is the largest of the currently existing mills in Gouda. It was built in 1727 and remained in operation until the early 1920s.
A few years later, miller Galama from the nearby (and later disappeared) mill De Korenbloem buys it with the sole purpose of eliminating the competition. When he offered the mill for demolition in 1926, the municipality of Gouda took action: it bought the mill and had it (externally) restored.
De Roode Leeuw is therefore one of the first Dutch mills to be restored purely as a monument and thus preserved.

Mill of the polder Beneden Haastrecht
This polder mill is still fully operational. He drains the polder Beneden Haastrecht, which is approximately 320 hectares in size. This is one of the three Stellingpolder mills in the Netherlands.
An attempt is made to do at least 50% of the drainage with the wind. If this is not possible due to too little or too much wind, an auxiliary pumping station can be used in the form of an electric motor.
